Westdene lies between the historic suburb of Sophiatown and Melville with the Melville Koppies West nature reserve to the north of the suburb. Westdene derives its name from its location, literally meaning west-valley. ‘West’ since it’s located west of the city centre and with ‘dene’ derived from the Old English denu, meaning “valley”.

You can walk to the heart of campus in about 10 minutes. You’ll be 400m from UJ and 400m from the Helen Joseph Hospital. If you want to drive to school, you won’t have to worry about your car’s safety because you have off-street safe parking.

You can stick around on your apartment to work on a project or enjoy the peace and quiet at the Westdene dam. With unlimited Wi-Fi access in your fully furnished apartment.
